WHAT IS DOG CAMP?
WAGGIN' TAILS ALONG THE TRAILS
Service Area: Valatie, Niverville, Kinderhook, Chatham, Chatham Center, Ghent, Schodack, East Greenbush
Dog Camp is designed with your Columbia County canine in mind. At Dog Camp your dog will embark a two-hour off-leash walk with our canine crew and their camp counselor (Me!). We walk on 100 acres of private land where your dog will get to run, play, and swim. After an afternoon nap, snack, and final play session with their pals, your dog will be happy and fulfilled, both mentally and physically!
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP LOOK LIKE?
-
I will pick up your dog from your home in the morning.
Have to be at work? No sweat! I’m more than happy to come get your dog from inside your home.
-
We walk for two hours on private land, taking plenty of breaks for playtime and practicing the dogs’ attention around distractions.
We hike in most weather conditions (excluding extreme heat/cold and thunder/lightning storms). Depending on the size of the canine crew, Dog Camp may be cancelled due to extreme conditions.
-
All campers will take a short ride back to my home base. The dogs are typically ready for nap time after their big adventure! I crate all dogs to give them some structured alone time. Campers will enjoy their lunches (if provided by owners) or enrichment (a frozen peanut butter Kong toy) while in their crates.
-
Dogs will get let out into my fully fenced yard to get out some last zoomies, have some snuggles, and take a final potty break (You can relax and enjoy some cuddles with your dog when you get home from work, rather than stressing about getting them out to potty!)
-
I will drop your dog off in the late afternoon/evening. Your dog will come home tuckered out and happy!
Dirty Dogs!
Campers may get dirty, especially if it’s muddy/raining or we’re having playtime by the river. Please let me know if you’d like to add a bath to the end of your dog’s camp day.
Short-coated dog bath +$5/day
Long/medium-coated dog bath +$10/day

Reliable Recall
Though we love letting our dogs wander and explore, it is important that they will come when called! While I do practice name recognition and recall while out on the trail, an ideal camp dog will have a basic understanding of recall.
Social
Campers should be friendly and social with other dogs and people. Since your dog’s Monday buddies may be different than their Thursday buddies, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to find a new BFF!
Enjoys riding in the car
Your dog will be transported to and from your home in my vehicle. They will be riding with their canine friends, so campers should feel comfortable with sharing their space.
